TIRSAN exceeded its target on trailers and realized 2.213 units of domestic sales and 2.135 units of export sales. TIRSAN group completed this year with a trailer production of 4.305 units. This increase in the production of trailers, which was 3.000 units in the previous year, means a growth of 45%. Domestic trailer sales of TIRSAN also increased by 10 % in 2007 compared to the previous year.
TIRSAN organized a press conference to evaluate the year of 2007, to announce its targets for 2008, to explain the reasons of its success in both trailer & tractor sales in 2007 and future growth strategies.
TIRSAN Managing Director Osman Sever declared in the press conference that they as TIRSAN group acquire a stable growth trend both in the domestic and also in the foreign markets. He also explained that their future strategy was to maintain a stable growth, in line with the target of being the leader of tank/silo and low-bed production in Europe in 2010.
TIRSAN determined its future vision as “developing its logistic solution partner position further” and “being leader producer of tank and silo, low-bed and box trailer vehicle groups”.
TIRSAN Group celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2007 and broke a record again. TIRSAN became a giant brand group by adding German Kässbohrer brand in 2002, Dutch Talson brand in 2003 and German Hendricks brand in 2007 into its own company structure and broke a record by achieving 40% growth in 2006 and by increasing this growth rate to 45 % in 2007.
TIRSAN, while maintaining a stable leader position for long years in the domestic market, it obtains very important successes in the foreign markets too.
It is expected that existing conditions will continue in the domestic market in 2008
TIRSAN foresees that over 16 tons heavy commercial vehicle market, closed in the level of about 26.300 in 2007, will reach the level of 26.000-27.000 sales units in 2008 and predicts that semi-trailer market, closed in the level of about 12.500 units in 2007, will reach the level of 13.500 units, with an approximate increase of 8% in 2008.
When European markets are considered, it is predicted that growth rate will decrease and the market will be more stable in 2008.
The growth target of TIRSAN group is 15% for 2008. TIRSAN targets 1.300 units in DAF sales and 2.350 units in trailer sales in the domestic market. The trailer export target of the group is 2.600 units.
TIRSAN Group targets to reach a total production of 4.950 units. The employee level is expected to increase from 1.049 to 1.200 personnel. Other goals of TIRSAN Group for 2008 are to complete the 7.600 m2 additional building investment in Adapazarı plant, to expand activities in the existing premises and to invest 6.000.000 USD in machinery & equipment. Thus, total investments of the group will reach to 8.350.000 USD including the construction of the additional building.
TIRSAN plans to realize its growth in 2008 through three semi-trailer segments which TIRSAN determines as strategic product segments. These segments are Tank & Silo segment, in which the group targets a 35% production capacity increase; low-bed vehicle segment, in which the group targets an 85% production capacity increase with the new production facility investment and in box type vehicle segment with its new refrigerated semi-trailer which will expand the product range of the company in this segment.
